Hello all

I've been pondering the thought of hosting a benefit all acoustic concert in Jackson at the Consumers Power Amphitheater next summer.
Id like help in selecting a worthy charity for children.
Also any ideas for performers would be great.
Possibly players that use YOUR guitars. I'm going to ask Christene Ledoux who will be playing one of my L1GP's by then.
I'm also thinking it could double as an acoustic guitar show as well, sort of a Midwest Acoustic guitar festival.
Believe me, this is only in the thinking stages, and I could use all the help I could get.
Whos interested? Who wants to come to Michigan next summer?

Your thoughts?

Thanks
Lance

I am telling you... you guys should check out Columbus Children's Hospital.

Not only are they making a difference in kids lives for the "normal" stuff, but they are doing some very innovative research in some highly specialized areas... Jeune's Syndrome -- a fatal birth defect is no longer fatal, lots of heart research, Oncology research etc.

My daughter contracted orbital celluites, which is a VERY serious infection when she was 2. Which could ultimately migrate to the brain and cause permenant and severe damage. CHI was really a special place to be... many physicians have told my wife and I after the fact that without a facility like this the dr. would have just administered antibiotics and hoped for the best.

We had pediatric opthamologists, pediatric ENT surgeons, etc. Everything worked out fine with my daughter, but without this resource... who knows....

And this influence is not just local. CHI is teaching pediatricians and doing fellowship programs with some of the best physicians in the country... they will eventually move away and spread this knowledge throught the country...

CHI is one of my clients, and that is why I know so much about them... but I get to see on a very regular basis how much they are contributing to these young people and I certainly can't imagine anything better to support.

I think it's a good idea, too Lance. I know a lot of entertainers who would be interested, including my trio, Party of Three. I know lots of good acoustic players who may want to come out, Rachel Davis, Ralston Bowles, Drew Nelson...there are lots from west Michigan. I'd like to help out, too.

Lance I am too far away to help organize but when you get a date let me know so I can schedule vacation. I would be glad to come up and offer my labor to help set up and such. I have some. I know an Austinite or two I could probably get to appear.

This is great guys! I'm going to be contacting the Director of the Consumers Energy Amphitheater today and find out about openings next summer. The CEAT (consumers energy amp theater) Is small and placed at the bottom of a nice hill side in a beautiful part of Jackson. They have summer concerts there every weekend, it would probably be perfect. And if it goes off with out a hitch, maybe, possibly an annual thing? Who knows!
